Premier Technology, Inc. utilizes shielding window glass produced by Schott Glass Technologies. Schott has been the leading name in optical materials for more than a century and has been manufacturing radiation shielding glass in the United States for over thirty years at their facility in Duryea, Pennsylvania, USA.
They employ the same platinum continuous melting units to make our radiation shielding window glasses that they use to produce high quality optical glasses. This assures the superior internal quality of Schott's radiation shielding glass.
Radiation shielding glasses have been specifically developed for nuclear radiation applications. Many nuclear physicists and engineers exploit the high radiation absorption of lead. Lead and non-lead containing glasses that have been stabilized against radiation-induced browning are available. This is accomplished by adding cerium oxide to the glass composition.

The glasses presented in the table represent currently available products. However, Schott Glass Technologies has a fully staffed research and development facility on-site and are able to custom design glasses to meet specific requirements.
