 Recommended Field Maintenance Operations

Field maintenance operations for oil filled windows consist of the following work:

  1. Regular, periodic cleaning of window cold side cover plates.
  2. Monthly inspection of oil-reservoir levels and cover-gas purge systems and daily visual inspection of the window rotometer position to verify no gas leakage is occurring.
  3. Annual light-transmissibility tests and inspections of the gas purge system for leakage.
  4. Bi Annual chemical analysis of the window-tank oil.
  5. Cleaning of window hot-side cover plates or alpha shieldswhen required.
  6. Change out of hot-side or cold-side cover plates when required.
  7. Retorquing of clamping-frame bolts when required to prevent oil leakage.
  8. Change out of the window tank oil when required.
  9. Removal and replacement of shielding window tank units when required.
  10. Verifying on a monthly basis the purge system pressurization safety blow-off "U" tube is properly filled.

Field maintenance operations for dry windows consists of the following work:

  1. Regular, periodic cleaning of window cold side  cover plates.
  2. Daily inspection of the window purge system for operation and visual inspection of every window rotometer position to verify no gas leakage is occurring.
  3. Annual light-transmissibility tests, and inspections of the gas purge system for leakage.
  4. Cleaning of window hot-side cover plates or alpha shields when required.
  5. Changeout of hot-side or cold-side cover plates when required.
  6. Retorquing of clamping-frame bolts when required to prevent inert gas leakage.
  7. Removal and replacement of shielding window tank units when required.
  8. Changeout of the inert gas purge pressure tanks as required.
  9. Verifying on a monthly basis the purge system pressurization safety blow-off "U" tube is properly filled.
